Want to hear some amazing news? To bad you have to sit through my not so amazing, yet somewhat good news first. :P

We had a faculty meeting at work tonight...got free chicken and biscuits. Yum! That is very good news. The ladies in my knitting group thing that will be perfect since I myself am a ray of sunshine. Or so they say... They told me I always brighten up there day.

Now, screw all that...onto the amazing stuff.

At work, as I'm sure Autumn knows, we have to deal with all these side things outside of the classroom where we try to show a good public face and get the parents involved. We are supposed to call them potlucks. I call it free chow. We also have a annual art show and me being the over helpful person that I am helped at all these events.

Well today at the meeting we had a raffle for four gift certificats to a spa in Darien. It's called Chicago Tan & Co. and is right next to Walgreens on 83rd street. Anywho... I WON! Woot! Here is what I get... Now mind you I have to do these in five seperate visits but who cares really?

That reminds me... I just got in the yarn to make Grant's scarf, he loves to watch me knit, claims it amazes him. So he picked out this Lion Brand Yarn...the wool-ease. I like it...got a nice textue to it and is a mixture of dark blues. They call it Denim Twist. I can't wait to get started!

Thanks to my friend Daphne I've seen the first episode of Chobits and several episodes of I My Me Strawberry Eggs. I adore both of them... But I've been thinking about a few things.. That creepy "Ba-chan" or whatever it is reminds me way to much of Shampoo's great-grandmother. And when Sumono (I think that's the cute little pink ones name) said "Porno!" in that bright, chipper voice, I almost fell out of my chair laughing. Thank goodness the neighbor is a deep sleeper!
chiaki_chan: (Kyou Rain)
Will this week ever end? Things have been so crazy at work. We had one preschool teacher out with back problems, another just found out she has a hernia and can't lift much of anything anymore... A toddler teacher will be out for 8 weeks due to a dog bite while a twos teacher can't lift the kids and they have to sit on her right leg if they sit in her lap due to a surgery she had after Christmas to clear some blockage in her heart. I recently found out I have a spot...a mass of cells in my right lung that the doctor claims isn't dangerous but he doesn't know why its there. Then! Another infant staff member had to put her dog to sleep, a dog which she's had for almost all her life and I'm sure we all know how hard that is. Pets are like family...sometimes they are prefered over family honestly. With all those health issues were all joking around that something is in the water... Oii...hows that for welcoming in the New Year with a bang?

Today I was in just about every room but the infant rooms (aside from walking inside the room quickly) and I spent most of my time in Preschool One, which is were the three year olds are. Now I know children can be agressive and accidents will happen...but over 10 incident reports for one room? As were trying to take care of one child another one is getting hurt. Oii...and the majority of it was centered around one child in particular. I'll be so happy when the kids get back on their normal routines again...

To top a frustrating day off... I just put on my favorite blue jeans and found a nice hole on the inside seam where the pants are comming apart. Tomorrow I'm so going to hit a fabric store and buy some pactches. For tonight I'm going to dig out some old pants and throw on my Stich t-shirt that says "Intergalatic Academy of Mischief" along with the UIC hoodie that my brother gave me for my birthday. Then its off to Daphne's for pizza and anime.

Man I need some chocolate milk.

I was out on a walk trying out my new shuffle when a few thoughts and questions came to mind...

1. The Disney song "Cruela Deville" sounds as if they are describing my sister.
2. Does anyone else whose met her agree with this?
3. Why has toliet paper always claimed to be unscented when they only just came out with scented toilet paper like a year or two ago?
4. Is it really that hard to pick one holiday to decorate your house for? This thought came to mind when I passed several houses who still had Halloween decorations up along with the Christmas ones.
5. How did a forgien version of "Walking in a Winter Wonderland" end up on my shuffle when I don't own a single Christmas song in my music collection?

And finally...

6. Why in the world does the dumpster near my apartment smell like Old Spice?
chiaki_chan: (Default)
Yesterday was...interesting... I've never been called a bitch on Christmas and never by a thirteen year old girl.

Anyway... Here's what I received this Christmas...

From the kids and families at work:

- $25 Khol's gift card w/ Christmas card of Anna and her sister Grace (Anna is the one in the Infant room, Grace is in Preschool)
- $25 Target gift card from Josie (along with what has to be the most adorable picture of my little friend that I've ever seen!)
- $30 and a tin of candy cane flavored hot chocolate from Madeleine and her parents
- $25 Best Buy card from John and his family
- $40 Best Buy card from Neil and his family
- Home made cookies and a Christmas plate from Ryan and his family
_ Mary Kay hand lotion from Alex and his family
- Mary Kay hand lotion, an ornament with a picture of Nicholas and his brother Alex (These are my Assistant Directors children, not related to the other Alex in the infant room) along with a mix to make pumpkin maple cheeseballs
- Ghirardelli hot chocolate, a package of Hershey Kiss Kissables, a Christmas mug, and Cephotil hand lotion from Luke and his family

From Coworkers:
- Gayle, the assistant director, turned out to be my Secret Santa at work and as the final "big" gift she gave me a Hallmark ornament with Harry on his Nimbus broomstick reaching for the snitch
- Kelly Bailey from Preschool One gave me a new pen. It's an R.S.V.P. pen that's pink(bleh!) but what she did was use special tape, stamps, and micro beads to make it look awesome...plus I can always take out the pink ink and put in a color I do like.
- Nasreen gave me a cheesecake... Yes a cheesecake. I'm afraid.

From Jullya and the kids:
- A blender, chocolate malts and virgin pina colada's here I come!
- Courtney gave me a baking set that is for children 6yrs and up... All the stuff is tiny copies of the real stuff that I already own... See physically she's 13yrs old...emotionally and mentally no one really knows...but it's the thought that counts.

From Colin:
- A beautiful diamond and emerald bracelet that is sterling silver under 18K gold...I'm still amazed!

From Grandpa and Grandma:
- Check for $50

From Dad:
- A crockpot, I can't wait to make beef stew!
- An iPod shuffle who I have named Hakkai... :: drools :: Mmm...Hakkai...
- A National Geographic Candy lab that will let me make bubble gum, marshmallows, and various other things
- A collection of inexpensive watercolors and chalks to use with the school age kids at work
- $75 gift certificate to Betsy's which is my local yarn store, so many ideas are dancing in my head now...
- The Polar Express gift set which includes the book, a CD of the story and a tape, along with the bell
- A CO2 detector
- Candy and more candy!

Pretty good ne?
chiaki_chan: (Sugar and Spice)
I have an iPod Shuffle. Woot!

I'll write more when I'm awake, right now I'm just gonna fall asleep listening to Japan-A-Radio.

* Note *

I've gotten the iPod Shuffle to finally work on my computer. Go me. His name is now Hakkai.
chiaki_chan: (Lord Wolfram Von Bielefelt - Stupid Hat)
My sister sent me a text message a few minuites ago asking if I was awake. I sent one back saying that I was and then she gave me a call. It wasn't even a minuite into the conversation and she was interupting me, not letting me speak at all, and telling me to keep my nose out of family matters. Three minuites into the conversation I hung up on her. When she called back a few seconds later I didn't even bother answering and now I have a voice mail on my phone from her which I can garuntee is going to be rather nasty... Especially after I sent her a text message saying I refused to talk to someone who kept interrupting me.

It's Christmas Eve...not even twenty minuites until Christmas and I'm a frelling wreck. I haven't seen my sister in over a year... Haven't had a civil conversation with her in more then twenty years. I suppose it's a good thing Grant's work schedule changed on him. If Natalie was such a prick when she met [livejournal.com profile] ashmcairo then I really don't want to see what she'd do if she met Grant.

I miss Mom so bad now. I want to curl up in her lap and have her hold me wile she wore that brown floral print robe she always wore whenever I was sick. I don't want to go home for Christmas and have to face Jullya and the kids.

All I want to do is curl up and cry right now....

I'm so tired of these depressing entries...

I just listened to the voice message... Someone tell me why I do this to myself. She's telling me to distance myself from my Dad... That apperently she was excited to meet my new boyfriend but now she doesn't think it will work out to see me on Christmas Day or anyday in the near future because I took offense that she disowned our father. I told her never to contact me again. I can't take this anymore...
chiaki_chan: (Sugar and Spice)
I should have the spreadsheet of all my different Disney songs by the Saturday...I'm hoping. I also collected a good chunk of Winx Club songs that I'll list as well. Most are Italian and seem to be off a soundtrack but some are the opening song in different langauages, French, German, English, Dutch.

Anyway I'm exhausted so I'm heading to bed.... Hope everyone is having a great week!

Having something to do and organize always seems to make me feel better... So! Despite the fact that I already have oodles to do I've decided to start up a Harry Potter fan fiction involving Colin Creevey as well as re-organizing all of my forgien Disney music.

Oii I'll need fuel to keep going. Bring on the Pocky!

*Attention!*

I will be posting a spreadsheet with the songs that I do have (including those from Fox's Anastasia and Don Bluth's An American Tale. However! Anything from Pocahontas and most likely Robin Hood as well...will be deleted if no one is asking for them. I'm not a huge Pocahontas fan and frankly I don't remember any of the Robin Hood songs...though a singing chicken is kind of funny. So! If you want them remember to ask quickly.

VIRGO:(August 23 - Sepember 22)
The Vestal Virgin. Mutable, earth, yin - planetary ruler: Mercury. Keywords: "I ANALYZE"

Virgo is the sixth sign of the zodiac and governs the nervous system and the intestines. Positive traits include a keen intellect, attention to detail, imagination, politeness, disciplined work habits, realism, practicality, skepticism, organizational skill, curiosity, and modesty; negative traits are anal-retentiveness, anxiety, hesitation, an inability to see the forest past the trees, insecurity, and obsessiveness.

Virgo Hufflepuff:
Hufflepuff Virgos are incredibly hard workers and bright, if quiet, students. They excel at any magical arts related to domestic life or healing. They must be watched carefully to ensure that they do not overstress their systems by performing too much work; these wizards have a very hard time learning the meaning of the word "no," and are thus easily taken advantage of for their work ethic. Let other people do the leading and the decision making; they are content to serve. And on their backs rests the industry of the world. Without people like them, civilization might grind to a halt, for who would take care of the practical details?
