Like my sister being shipped off to Mexico during monarch migrating season... Did you know she's afraid of butterflies?

Anyway...

Saw the apartment. Its nice, has a decent size bedroom and living room, sort of what I have here but the kitchen is bigger. There is airconditioning and the basement has laundry facilities. But the current occupants are smokers. I'm allergic and have asthma. I spent not even five mins in the place and my headache that had been mostly gone is back full force. Even if I febrezzed the entire frelling place every day I couldn't deal with the stink. Even Dad agrees.

Dad called Karen and talked with her husband Tom. He proposed that they give me an exstension if Dad fixed the minor problems. No go. Tom was actually rather rude to my Dad on the phone so now tomorrow Dad wants to report them. :: sighs ::

Possiblity in Lockport. It's a studio with a decent size kitchen, hardly any storage, and an okay bathroom. But since I have no where else to go its really all I've got. The guy did a credit check and everything looks okay, Dad says he's got another person looking at the place but that the landlord (who actually seems to give a damn about his tenents) will probably give me first dibs. Rent is $540 a month. Dad told me I couldn't afford $525 in Chicago so how can I afford $540?

So now I'm off to Lockport to explore the area. If I move there I'll be living above a barber shop and right down the street from a coworker. Closer to a library actually which being the bookworm that I am (my closest friends during childhood, hell during life have been literary) is a major plus.

I'm glad I switched hours with Beth tomorrow. I may have to stay till 6pm but at lest I've got a movie to look foward to with [livejournal.com profile] johnnytaco (I'm thinking Mr. Taco that we should see Fantastic Four) and since I don't need to be at work till 9am I can stay up late and finish the last few chapters after I get back from Lockport.

I'll just stick some Hanson in the CD player and enjoy a drive in the AC. Maybe stop by one of the little ice cream shops in the area and pick up a treat. You never know what might pop up when you explore.

I do know however, that when I get my new place I am so having a party. Or at lest attempting to. Knowing my luck and past history I'll be happy if dust bunnies show up. I'm just not a happening kind of person ya know? I'm not where the fun is at.
