Dear Erin,
Well, here is what I discovered for better or for worse.
There are two books set back for you at Borders. Well, sort of. In fact, probably not. Here is the deal: Borders has more requests for the book then the number of books scheduled to arrive for the midnight release. You and Carrie are on a waiting list, both under my name. So you may get the book, you may not. The guy at Borders was not very encouraging. He thought it was possible but not likely.
So.....
What about Doubleday? Do you want me to check with them? Maybe they could have a copy set back for the two of you. (By the way, Borders will call me when the books arrive (assuming that you can't get one the first night) but it probably won't be until after you have left town.)
So.....
There you have it. Let me know what my next move is.

I have checked the Potter Parties site and have found a selection of places in Carmel and Indy and will be giving them a call... I'll let you know what I find out! Please let me know if you have any ideas.

Autumn here is what happened. I paroozed the list of people having parties in Indiana that would be in the area that we will be at and wound up going with the one we noticed about a month ago at “Big Hat Books”.
Now they are a small store, not a chain like Borders, so there is no discount on the book. But the woman I spoke two was incredibly sweet and extremely excited about the weekend. She told me that they are going to have a big tent party with a costume contest, live music, various contests, and various games. She also told me that they were going to have the trivia contests to be all trivia contests which is when I warned her that we were rather good and we had been to a conference up in Canada the summer before. She sounded impressed and said that we’ll probably win then.
I’ve placed two books on reserve for the price of $29.99 and 6% sales tax..ugh…on my card so the books are already paid for. I’ve given her my name, your name, and your dad’s name (its Bill right?) because this party is by reservation only. When we get there we get a goodie bag with an awesome gift card that scholastic only made a couple of and not every store will have them!
She also seemed rather impressed with the way our costume sounds and reminded me of us, she was practically bouncing I could totally tell over the phone! She was even squealing! A complete fan girl! We will be in good company.
Anyway I hope I haven’t gone and done something I shouldn’t… But I figured we could hit the other parties during the evening as well (if you wanted) and frankly I don’t think I could be wait any longer to get the book. I’m such a kid.. :P
