A Thrilling Weekend Update

Mmmm… Reheated pizza, roasted almond flavored hot chocolate, Barry Van Dyke, and Scott Baio… What a great end to the weekend. :: glomps ::

Okay! On with the weekend!

Friday:

I worked during the day then went to Dave and Buster’s with some of the girls from work (Gayle, Nasreen, Sarah, and Kelly). We ate real good food; I had chicken fingers and an amaretto stone sour. Kelly spent a lot of time chuckling at me because I asked for a large amount of cherry syrup in my drink. Hey it tastes better that way!

After dinner we headed to the game room and enjoyed about an hour and a half of games. I kicked butt at ski ball as usual and managed to get 600 tickets, more than I ever won before! With them I was able to get this extremely cute plush dragon with iridescent wings. He’s red with yellow scales, claws, and a yellow stomach. Not sure what I’ll name him though (all of my critters have names). I’m thinking maybe Godric. :: grins ::

I don’t really remember what happened much afterwards, I didn’t drink anything else but I was extremely tired by the time I got home. Truthfully I can’t even remember what time I did get home!

Saturday:

Well lets see… In the morning I woke up ‘round 6:45am to make sure I was awake to tape Mew Mew Power and Winx Club then I wound up falling back to sleep until like 12pm I think… I know I called [livejournal.com profile] mippa at some point to once again wish her congratulations...I think it was for like the fourth time. But hey I'm happy for her! Graduating is a big thing to me. I was the third one in my family to ever finish college, or some form of it, and there is only two of us still alive. So it's a very big deal to me.

Then I spent time sending text messages back and forth with [livejournal.com profile] johnnytaco who headed out my way and ran some erraneds with me. Mostly we picked up some food, litter, and a new wheel for Hakkai and Ginji then proceded to a pizza place near his old apaprtment for dinner, and after that we went to the video store we picked up the following films:

Dodgeball
A Very Brady Sequel
Bridget Jones’s Diary
Bridget Jones’s Diary: The Edge of Reason

We watched the first two and after the Brady Bunch movie it was close to 1am (if my memory is correct) and he headed back to his place and I crashed on my futon.

Sunday:

Total chick day! I slept in till 11am and was awoken by a call from Dawn who wanted to go out and see a movie. She hasn’t been feeling to great since she broke up with her boyfriend just a few days ago and the fact that she also graduated from Joliet Junior College on the 13th ment that she should be in a happy mood so we got together.

First we checked out which movies were playing and choose to see Monster-in-law, chick flick all the way. Lots of guys to drool over, annoying old women sitting in front of us though. Wanted to make a snappy comment to them but choose to be the usual polite me instead.

Anyway! Before the film we hit the pet store to return the wheel I bought the day before and picked up a bigger one…they like this one, their rear ends actually stay on it! Seeing as they will be attending preschool (preschool one is talking about pets and they want me to bring mine in) for a week I thought it would be nice if they had a pretty new wheel. You know show themselves off and all that jazz.

After returning the wheel I ran into Great Clips and got an $11 haircut that actually looks pretty adorable on me if I do say so myself. It actually got Dawn thinking about cutting her hair but she’s always had the same hairstyle for as long as I’ve known her (she was a freshman when I was a senior in high school) and frankly I don’t think she has the guts to cut it. No offense to her, she agreed with me.

Once we were done with the film we were driving in my car and talking about hair, men, and various other things when she decided we should both color our hair. She wanted more red in her hair and I had mentioned before that I’d seen a nice shade of strawberry blonde (which my hair naturally is though has gotten to be a bit more blonde through the years with hints of brown thanks to my mom’s auburn tresses) at a local Walgreens.

I chose to go with a box of Revlon Colorsilk in Strawberry Blonde #72 ( http://www.walgreens.com/store/pickcolor.jhtml?CATID=100662&navAction=push&navCount=1&skuid=sku309422&id=prod9423 ) While Dawn went with a L’Oreal Paris product and their Superior Preference line using Intense Red Copper #RR07 (http://www.walgreens.com/store/product.jhtml?id=prod8819&skuid=sku308819&CATID=100661&navAction=push&navCount=2 ) and lets just say that she is very, very red right now…a deep red seeing as her hair is naturally a brownish color. I think.

While we were dying our hair I introduced her to Mew Mew Power after attempting to convince her to watch Tokyo Mew Mew but she claimed it was easier for her to watch a few episodes of the dubbed before starting on subtitled ones. She is hooked on “Zoey”. Yippie! Now just to get her hooked on Fushugi Yuugi and my work will be close to done.

So after our hair was done she had to run off to meet up with some people back in Joliet and I stayed home to take a walk and come back and make dinner. I’m finishing up the evening by writing this entry and keeping my eyes open using toothpicks. Very painful really. :P I should have been in bed awhile ago but when I tried I was composing livejournal entries in my head and that just really is…well actually a rather scary though.

So I think I’ll leave it at that and bid you all a good night.
