Just to warn you in advance this entry might be a bit scattered…I’ve got a lot to say but can’t seem to get my brain to focus on one thought completely.

Friday was the end of Teacher Appreciation week which ment there was this stupid awards banquet that while I had RSVPed for it I didn’t really want to go and frankly I wasn’t feeling well. So I told the Regional Manager that I didn’t want to go and she went and told my director. Well then my director gives me this major guilt trip about going (right in front of a few of my coworkers mind you!) and made it sound like it was mandatory, which it wasn’t. I really didn’t want to go and Dad even told me that if I didn’t want to go then I didn’t have to. But you know what my director did? She called my phone to fricken check up on me!

:: growls ::

The food stuck, the meat wasn’t done, my salad had to be taken back because it had onions in it and they had to bring me oil and vinegar to use for salad dressing. Oii.. Then of course there was the badly written speech that the director wrote. Ugh, it was really bad. The only upside to the entire thing was the crème Brule and the fact that I saw two raccoons. I also won the Nala award (yes as in Nala from the Lion King, everyone won an award related to a Disney character) for being so sweet and playful. I suppose being a kid at heart really pays off.

The first raccoon I saw was outside of the windows of the Argonne Guest House (where the banquet was held) and it decided to go crawling around the garbage cans while Joanne (the regional manager) gave her speech. It was funny cause everyone was looking at it and not paying any attention to her. Especially me, since I wasn’t to happy with Joanne for telling Tonya (the director) that I didn’t want to go to the banquet…I even said to her “You got me in trouble!” and she nodded and smiled, I can’t remember what she replied with but I then said “You know Joanne I have a good memory.” I think she thought I was teasing.

The second raccoon was actually in the rotating doors at the front of the guest house. I saw it on my way out and so did Nicole and Lisa (Nicole is a toddler teacher and Lisa is an Infant teacher) I was really tempted to spin the door and let the raccoon in. As I looked back and forth between the adorable little masked critter and my coworkers I couldn’t help but giggle as Lisa and Nicole darted back towards the hall.

I stopped at Jewel after the banquet and sat in the parking lot while talking to Dad on the phone. I found out that Natalie has finally decided to disown my father simply because he cared more about helping her move out of her apartment then immediately giving her money for this concert in Detroit. This is the last straw. I wonder if she realized that she has disowned the entire family now. I want nothing to do with her, she’s evil.

In Jewel I was able to get my hands on an awesome deal for yogurt. Twenty for $10…got some yummy flavors and I have eighteen next. I also got some blue raspberry drink, milk, and some acne stuff. I’m getting ticked cause it’s gotten really hard to find anything with salicylic acid and when I do it’s really expensive. I can’t help it if I’m allergic to the other stuff!

I’ve been really tired this weekend and coughing some so I haven’t really been doing much except taking walks and watching movies. I watched Returner, a Japanese film that is just totally awesome, if you haven’t seen it I highly recommend it. It’s got guns, time travel, aliens, hot guys (Takeshi Kaneshiro), and a kick ass chase scene that includes the good guys on motorcycles. I must find my own copy of this film and show it to others.

Yesterday I found my way to a local mall around 8:30pm cause I was bored, I think it was called Yorktown. Anyway at the Sam Goody I snagged myself a copy of Yoko Ishida’s CD “sweets”, Mippa was nice enough to help me pick it out even though I called her up on the phone and caught her in the middle of something (thanks btw Mippa!). The CD, which was released (at lest her in the states) by Pioneer, is great and has the following on it…

spring field
believing
White Destiny (Pretear Opening)
Proof of Live (“Anime TV” ending)
Eternal Flower “Towa no Hana” (Ai Yori Aoshi” Opening)
I Can’t Tell You “Ienaikara” (Yucie Ending theme)
Get Away 2am “Yokohane Gozen 2JI”
Fragile Flower “Kowarekaketa Hana”
Sugar Baby Love (“A Little Snow Fairy Sugar” Opening)
Truth’s Door “Shinjitsu no Tobira” (Gunparade March – Spirit of Samurai- Opening)
Thankful
Sugar Baby Love (English version, this is an exclusive US release)

I must get the other one that they have and will have to carefully go over their collection of anime soundtracks. I didn’t get to long in the store since I found theme ½ hour before closing and found the selection right before they called for everyone to make their final purchases.

Today I got lost on the I&M canal but found a lot of really beautiful parts and figured it was as good a chance as any to do some exploring. I think I was walking around for the better part of two hours…maybe three. I didn’t bring my watch with me. Found some awesome places to go fishing, if I can only remember where they are and even got to walk across a waterfall. It made me wish I had a camera with me though a lot of the places that I saw were really inspirational. I even got to see a chipmunk, a few frogs, some ducks and geese, a blue heron (I see this same heron every time I’m at the canal), a wollybear caterpillar, and loads of fisherman. I could have done without seeing the ones who were peeing in the bushes though. I do love the woods though…their where I feel most at peace.

I found two amusing things today. I was on eBay looking for some inexpensive Winx Club dolls as I want a Flora one and it seems that everywhere but in my area they are having a sale on them…their close to $20 out near me and I’m not spending that much on a doll when I have other things, such as Harry Potter to spend money on. However I noticed that someone was auctioning off three Winx Club napkins, paper napkins mind you, and that some person had actually bid on them! They are currently going for $1.40 and have a shipping charge of $3.30 on them… Why would someone pay $4.70 for 3 frelling paper napkins? I don’t care who’s on them, that’s just ridicules.

The second amusing thing I found today was during my second walk. I was out on McCarthy Street and passed by a small sign indicating that someone was having a garage sale. There was no address on the sign, simply an arrow pointing across the street and to the right of me. Here’s the thing. There are NO houses where the arrow was pointing. There is however a Lutheran cemetery. :: shrugs :: I suppose everyone has to get rid of stuff.

Tomorrow I’m going to Minooka as Dad is having Jullya and her kids, along with her niece and nephew, over for a BBQ and it’s a good chance to do some laundry. I also need to pick up my extra checks (provided they are still around) that way I can pay my rent, electric bill, and car insurance. I thought they were here at my apartment and in the closet but I guess I was wrong. :: grumbles :: I hope I don’t have to go to the bank on Tuesday to order new ones. They are expensive…

Well enough of this scatter brained entry. I think I’m going to go have some yogurt and look for some way to get my hands on as many eps of the Beetlejuice cartoon as I can. I already have the theme song and a couple of sound clips but I’d like to find an avi if they exist.

Lydia: Though I know I should be wary still I venture someplace scary. Ghostly haunting I turn loose. Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, BEETLEJUICE!
